Without an accompanying general chemistry lab course, we ordinarily would not grant equivalence to CHEM 1211K. Under the circumstances, with admission riding on this decision, I'm willing to allow it in this case. However, the student will need to take CHEM 1212K. Under no circumstances will we grant equivalence of the prior coursework to CHEM 1212K, as taking CHEM 2380 or even an introductory BME lab without an introductory chemistry lab is extremely inadvisable. For the Registrar: I will communicate with Admissions that we need to emphasize that students entering majors requiring 1211K or 1212K as a condition for admission must take a general chemistry laboratory at their prior institution.

I am submitting this for evaluation because I was not awarded credit for Chem 113. I was told in the fall from the transfer office that I only needed to take Chem 113. Chem 106 was never mentioned, and on the transfer equivalency table, it said that Chem 113 would directly transfer. I have sent screenshots of the email and the equivalency table to the Registrar Office, who told me to submit a request for Chem 111 to be evaluated for credit. If there is any way for me to awarded credit for Chem 1211K via Chem 113 or Chem 111 or both, I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you!!
