Also, the attached file is the departmental syllabus therefore it describes all the MATH 3300 classes being taught at UGA. I am willing to contact my instructor to make sure that the information shown on the departmental syllabus were covered in the class I have taken.

In the syllabus for MATH 3300, topics such as SVD are shown which is not covered in GT MATH 1553. It is worth noting that the numbers on the side only indicate the recommended exercises and not the actual material covered. I am positive that there was more material covered than GT MATH 1553 and that my instructor did not make it clear enough on the syllabus. Within the course objectives, topics such as SVD is mentioned which is not present in GT MATH 1553.

The course topics of UG MATH 3300 in the uploaded "Course Syllabus" are more or less similar to GT MATH 1553. The file of "Attachment" contained additional topics but they were not covered according to the "Course Syllabus". The existing policy stands.

It seems that in a different institution such as Georgia State University, Georgia Tech gives credit for MATH 1X54 despite the Linear Algebra class in Georgia State University being only 3 credit hours. Why is this the case?

My previous institution did not offer a Linear Algebra class that is 4 credit hours and due to the course material being identical with the same textbook being used, I believe that I should not have to retake the course for the 1 hour difference when I have an excess amount of MATH 1XXX credits.

Is it possible for it to be considered for the MATH 1X54 credit? Also, is my 3 total hours of MATH 1XXX elective credits able to be used to get credit for MATH 1554 or MATH 1X54?

Since it is only 3 hours, the MATH department cannot grant MATH 1554 (4 hours).

I discussed with my academic advisor and she said I will have to contact the Math Department to get my credit reconsidered for MATH 1554 or MATH 1X54.

MATH 1553 (2) & MATH 1XXX (1) is granted for this course. Please discuss with your academic advisor to see if an exception may be placed to fulfill your MATH 1554 requirement with this course and Math Elective credit.

The credit hours is not identical to MATH 1554 at Georgia Tech but it covers the same material. I also have MATH 1XXX elective credit shown on Degree Works that I believe I might be able to use to receive credit.
