Father emailed the course instructor to email the following info to academics@math.gatech.edu: How were the assessments (Tests, Quizzes, and Homework assignments) administered and proctored.

Since an email of Rio Salado College (Attachment 4) confirmed that the course instructor was an adjunct faculty of Rio Salado College in the semester of Fall 2021, We will review this dual enrollment math course for transfer credit. Unfortunately the syllabus does not contain sufficient info about how the students were assessed. Please ask the course instructor to email the info to academics@math.gatech.edu: (1) a precise percentage breakdown of the course grade from different components of the assessments; and (2) how each assessment was administered and proctored.

Dear Reader, Thank you for working with me. I’m taking exams here at ASU, so per your request, my Father, John Devine, requested verification from the Faculty Chair of the Mathematics Department of Rio Salado for the teachers, courses, and time frames. I am attaching the verification. In the verification is the contact information for the Faculty Chair if there are further questions. Can we now transfer MAT 221 for GaTech Math 1551.....MAT231 for GaTech Math 1552.....MAT 241 for GaTech Math 2551.....MAT 277 for GaTech Math 2552.....Thank you Thank you Thank you

Please upload/resubmit and return to Registrar (R1) a response to this inquiry from the department - "Dear Student, Please obtain the official letter from Maricopa Community Colleges - Rio Salado Community College. Please note that our question was not about whether Rio Salado Community College approved the high school teacher to teach their dual enrollment course. We need a confirmation from Rio Salado Community College that the instructor was indeed their adjunct faculty during the semester of Fall 2021."

In addition to the note on April 14th, my Father emailed the teachers, who confirmed they are Adjunct Faculty at Rio Salado College. I am attaching a PDF of the email exchange.

Dear Reader, I sincerely apologize for any confusion. I was enrolled as a student at Rio Salado Community College while in high school, Dual Enrollment. Please see the syllabus. This is a college accredited course, taught by a teacher Certified to teach Rio Salado College curriculum. I have attached a screenshot from Rio Salado showing the certification requirement of teachers. Arizona State University recognized the credit, as did Georgia Tech when my sister transferred to Georgia Tech 2 years ago.

GT does not award transfer credit to math courses that were taught by high school teachers. If the student is confident in the mastery of the course material, there are options of taking either a Placement Exam of GT MATH 1551 https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/faset-and-incoming-students or an Advanced Standing Exam of GT MATH 1551 https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/advanced-standing-exams

Dear Reader, This is a request to transfer the previously completed MAT 221 course per the table below. In all cases I have attached a syllabus with my request that shows course content and grading rubric. Below are the math courses I have previously taken thus far and the requested Georgia Tech transfer recognition. Figure 1 Math Courses Taken and Transfer recognition request to Ga Tech The problem with the MAT 221 transfer is probably a tool bug or misunderstanding. The “Transfer Articulation” tool does automatically recognize MAT 220 as MAT1551 (2 credits) and 3 credits of MATH 1XXX elective. It should automatically recognize MAT 220 as MAT1551 (2 credits) and 2 credits of MATH 1XXX elective. The reason is that it is literally the same class. There are 2 screenshots below to demonstrate my point: 1. A screen shot from the catalog of Rio Salado Community College with the course descriptions of MAT 221, and MAT 220, with the only difference as 4 credits or 5 credits, both classes are identical. 2. The 2nd screen shot is the “Transfer Articulation” tool, and MAT220, MAT221 showing the Georgia Tech equivalence for MAT220, yet not for MAT221 in spite of it being the same class for 1 less credit. Please recognize credit for MAT 1551 (2 credits), and 2 credit of MATH 1XXX elective. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Suzuko Devine
