I assume that the student was referring to some calculus courses of other universities/colleges. We can re-evaluate those courses if the student can provide appropriate course documents.

Just to ensure there is no confusion in my note at 2023-12-01 14:04:53: I was able to find this information by looking at past and current syllabuses and/or contacting the institution directly.

This morning I have found over 14 institutions that were on the Georgia Tech Transfer Equivalency Table that are similar to my current transfer equivalency request that have “proctored assessments” totaling way less than 75%. I am more than happy to email this list to you. May I respectfully ask why I am clearly being held to a different standard? Looking forward to your response.

"I am troubled by the assertion that I am ineligible for credit due to uncertainties about exam proctoring and their percentage value." That is a misunderstanding on the part of the student. Such uncertainties are not the reason of not awarding the transfer credit to this course. This calculus course does not transfer because no more than 36% of the course grade of MAT 275 is based on proctored assessments. This does not meet the standards that we expect of our calculus courses. In GT calculus courses, about 75% or more of the course grade comes from proctored assessments.

Please see student's request for re-evaluation "Morning, I am writing to bring to your attention my concerns regarding the evaluation of my transfer credit for Evaluation #18116. Upon a thorough examination of the evaluator's comments, I am troubled by the assertion that I am ineligible for credit due to uncertainties about exam proctoring and their percentage value.

If the student is confident in the mastery of the course material, there are options of taking either a Freshman Placement Mathematics Exam of GT MATH 1552 https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/faset-and-incoming-students or an Advanced Standing Exam of GT MATH 1552 https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/advanced-standing-exams

2023-11-08 16:51:33 - Xu-Yan Chen <xc4>

It is unclear from the syllabus whether the exams are proctored or not. Even assuming they were all proctored, only 36% of the course grade is based on exams. This is a significantly low percentage compared to typical GT calculus courses.

Hello Dr. Chen - The student has provided an email from the course instructor regarding the syllabus. Please let us know if you require anything further from the student.

This institution uses the same syllabus for all sections like most Georgia Tech courses. See email response.
