I just finished ENGL 1101 so that credit would just be repeat. Can I get credit for a humanities class?

Based on what's here, this course could count for ENGL1101, but if the student would like transfer credit for ENGL1102, we would need 20 pages of writing that includes research. The supplemental writing file here appears to be a rhetorical analysis and the journals (as described in the syllabus) do not appear to include research. Would the student like a credit for ENGL1101?
