I request that ECME 101 be accepted as a technical elective in Civil Engineering, as it covers key principles relevant to sustainability, resilience, and environmental protection. While focused on marine engineering, the course content applies directly to civil engineering in the following ways: Sustainability & Pollution Control – Addresses pollution prevention, anti-pollution equipment, and waste disposal, aligning with sustainable infrastructure and environmental engineering practices. Resilient Infrastructure – Covers mechanical systems like turbines, shafting, and propulsion, which relate to structural durability and maintenance in civil engineering. Safety & Risk Management – Emphasizes electrical, mechanical, and operational safety, critical for construction sites and large-scale infrastructure projects. Engineering Tools & Techniques – Provides hands-on experience with tools and measurement instruments used in structural assessment and material testing. Given the growing emphasis on sustainable and resilient infrastructure, ECME 101 offers valuable knowledge applicable to civil engineering. I appreciate your consideration.
