I have looked into similar courses offered at other universities that qualify as MATH 1X54 credits under the transfer equivalency table. One school in particular, Georgia State University, has a MATH 2641/Linear Algebra course that only covers material from linear equations to eigenvalues, or 5 major topics within the David Lay Linear Algebra textbook. MATH 250 at Rutgers University covers 7 major topics within the David Lay textbook. All of the topics are listed within the syllabi attached, so how does Rutgers's Linear Algebra course covers much more content (equivalent to GaTech's MATH 1554) than Georgia State's but not equivalent to more or at least similar credits of MATH 1X54?

Cannot transfer as MATH 1X54. The student should seek advice from the academic advisor of their major about how to use the transfer credits for the degree requirements and how to create an appropriate academic plan in GT in view of the awarded transferred credits.

Student wants course evaluated for 3 hours of MATH 1X54.

I had been in contact with the registrar office, and they told me that while this course might not be equivalent to MATH 1554 because of the credit requirement, it could be equivalent for MATH 1X54, which in turn could potentially be added with a separate free math credit to convert into MATH 1554 credits. The nature of both courses is almost identical, outside from the lack of 1 credit.

MATH 1554 can only be awarded for 4 hour math courses.

I noticed that my linear algebra course from Rutgers had not transferred into MATH 1554. The transfer equivalency table indicates that 01:640:250 equivalates to MATH 1553, a course that covers significantly less topics & less rigor throughout the semester. Although the Rutgers version is 3 credits opposed to Tech's 4 in MATH 1554, Rutgers's course topics are equal or even more diverse than the alternative for CS majors. The equivalency table might say otherwise, but the course at Rutgers has gone through several changes since the syllabus overhaul a few years back. If you compare the syllabi of both courses, the depth and rigor is clear. I would really appreciate it if someone could look into this and appropriately estimate my credit value despite what the transfer equivalency table might indicate.
