Foothill and De Anza are sister colleges under the Foothill-De Anza Community College District (FHDA.edu). I completed Math 1A, 1B, and 1C at Foothill. However, since Math 1D was not offered at Foothill that semester, I took it at De Anza, as recommended by the school. The courses are part of the same pathway and have inter-transferable credits appearing on the same transcript on my end. I hope my combined credits from Math 1C at Foothill and Math 1D at De Anza will give me credit for Math 2551 just like they do for Foothill. I am not requesting credit for Math 2551 based solely on Math 1D but rather on combining Math 1C and 1D. This might be why they may not seem sufficiently rigorous on their own.

If the student is confident in the mastery of the course material, they may want to consider the option of testing out GT MATH 2550 or GT MATH 2551 by taking an Advanced Standing Exam https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/advanced-standing-exams

It is unclear from the syllabus whether the midterms and the final exam were proctored. Even assuming they were all proctored, only 33.33% of the course grade was based on proctored assessments. The course is far less rigorous than GT calculus courses.

The syllabus does not contain the instructor's info and does not have a detailed explanation of "Method of Evaluation". Please provide the actual syllabus that the instructor posted to the class in Spring 2024 (if that is when the student took the course).

This class, math 001D, was taken from DeAnza Foothill's sister school because Foothill was full. This same class at Foothill maps to Math 2551.
