Hello! I am a bit confused as to the reasoning for not accepting these credits. According to the syllabus for the class, the exams, final exam, and quizzes add up to 85% of the grade for the course. There were only a few instances of team quizzes and those were all worth less points than any individual assignment. The final for the class was an entire AP Calculus BC exam from a previous year, which would automatically qualify me for credit for this course, had my school offered that course instead of the dual enrollment option. All of the assessments were written and proctored in person and were all taken individually save for the team quizzes that were worth less, and meant to be used as a review session for the individual assessments.

If the student is confident in the mastery of the course material, there are options of taking either a Placement Exam of GT MATH 1552 https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/faset-and-incoming-students or an Advanced Standing Exam of GT MATH 1552 https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/advanced-standing-exams

The course is not as rigorous as GT calculus courses. In a typical GT calculus course, at least 75% of the course grade is based on individual written assessments proctored in person.

I reached out to my instructor for the class but he does not wish to set a precedent of dealing with these types of issues. The document attached was given to me by the dean of Grossmont College. Each instructor formatted their class a bit differently, so I cannot reach out to the main instructors for this course. With regards to MATH 280 taken as a dual enrollment course at Grossmont High School, all of the tests and quizzes that are labeled as a “team” test or quiz were treated as quizzes. The quiz on Partial Fractions and Improper Integrals was administered as an Individual Quiz in order for the students to gauge their ability to work out problems in these subject areas. All tests and quizzes were proctored by the instructor himself and the difference between “Team” and “Individual” tests and quizzes is that “Team” quizzes were taken by the students in groups of 2-4 and treated as a practice or a review for the “Individual” tests and quizzes, which were taken by the students without any help from their teams. The instructor proctored all of these tests and quizzes himself. The final exam was an old AP Calculus BC exam that he modified for our purposes (making sure all subject matter for the course was covered in the exam). The first day of the exam, the students completed the multiple choice section, and the second and third day were both free-response. The students had no prior knowledge of the exam questions for each day as the instructor passed out the exam in three parts, one for each day. All tests and quizzes as well as the final exam were taken with pencil and paper during the class period and the instructor personally proctored all of them.

Please upload/respond and return to R1 a response to this inquiry from the department - "Please obtain a written clarification from the instructor concerning the following three issues. (1) According to the course calendar, there were a Team Quiz (on Partial Fractions and Improper Integrals) and a Quiz (on 6.8, 7.5, 8.5). Are these the only quizzes of the semester? What is the difference between a Team Quiz and a Quiz? Were they proctored? (2) According to the course calendar, there were a Team Test (on 6.6, 6.10, 6.12, 6.8, 7.5, 8.5), an Individual Test (on 6.6, 6.10, 6.12, 6.8, 7.5, 8.5), a Team Test (on 10.2, 10.3, 10.4), an Individual Test (on 10.2, 10.3, 10.4), a Team Test (on 11.1-11.7), and an Individual Test (on 11.1-11.7). What is the difference between a Team Test and an Individual Test? Were they proctored? (3) How was the Final Exam administered? Was it proctored?"

For the department to review, you need to include a detailed weekly schedule including topics covered and return to R1
