This course is not intended to be transferred for English credit; rather, it is a health science course (HS) that fulfills my civic engagement requirement at Brenau University. Below is the description found in the course catalog: "This course is designed to expose undergraduate students to the wide range of careers in the helping professions. Students will complete personal assessments to gather information about their personality types and interests, which will be related to career descriptions in the healing arts. Additionally, students will hear from speakers representing various health care careers and will participate in shadowing experiences in at least two careers of their choice. This course is designated as a 'W' course. W courses emphasize the experiences and expertise of women throughout their design and delivery. Students will identify and analyze the contributions and experiences of women. More than 50% of course activities, readings, and assessments will emphasize and explore female experiences, perspectives, or expertise."
