Existing policy stands

The existing policy stands. By the way, GSU MATH 2551 transfers as GT MATH 2551 (4 GT credits). If the student feels that they have mastered the material of GT MATH 2551, please consider taking an Advanced Standing Exam of GT MATH 2551. For the info of GT MATH 2551, follow the link on: https://math.gatech.edu/projected-schedule-of-undergraduate-courses For the info of Advanced Standing Exams of GT MATH, please see https://math.gatech.edu/undergraduate/advanced-standing-exams

MATH 2550 (2) & MATH 2XXX (2) is listed as the equivalency, but please see student's request for re-evaluation

I am requesting a reevaluation of my MATH 2215 Multivariable Calculus course from Georgia State University for potential equivalency to Georgia Tech’s MATH 2551 Multivariable Calculus which is a four credit course. This course uses Calculus Early Transcendentals by Stewart Clegg and Watson ninth edition, the same textbook used in MATH 2551. It covers the following major topics: • Three dimensional coordinate systems, vectors, dot and cross products • Lines, planes, and quadric surfaces • Vector functions, derivatives, and curvature • Functions of several variables, partial derivatives, chain rule, gradients, and directional derivatives • Optimization and Lagrange multipliers • Double and triple integrals in rectangular, polar, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates • Change of variables This content aligns closely with the MATH 2551 syllabus and includes nearly the entire multivariable calculus curriculum. The course carries four credit hours at Georgia State and provides substantial coverage equivalent in rigor and depth to MATH 2551. I have attached the official syllabus for your review. Thank you for considering my request.
